Wall Seismic Design and Detailing

In this webinar, we invited two prominent practicing civil engineers, Peter McBean and Scott Menegon, to review the design process for concrete walls according to the Australian Standard AS 3600.
With a focus on structural walls, Peter and Scott will explain the background to recent changes to the standard, and how to apply the new rules. Issues such as ductility factor selection, displacement compatibility, detailing for walls, and dealing with specific issues such as soft stories, will be discussed.
The presentation also includes: some case study examples of how to implement the seismic design rules, including strut-and-tie design procedures for walls.
