In this webinar, our presenter – Dr Scott Menegon discusses how the provisions for shear design in the previous version of AS 3600 were based on a simple design procedure covering complex interactions between shear, bending and torsion. In some cases this resulted in design results that were either unconservative, or excessively over-conservative.
The new version of the code introduces the Modified Compression Field Theory model, allowing more rational design methods, which are more consistent over a wide range of conditions.
Seismic Loading Requirements: AS 1170.4 and the new commentary; new requirements for earthquake loading of reinforced concrete structures and how these interact with AS 3600.
