‘fib Bulletins’ is a generic term for a series of publications that includes several types of technical documents: Model Codes, Application Manuals, Design Guides or Recommendations, Synthesis or State-of-Art Reports, and Technical Reports, which form a detailed record of the results attained by Commissions and Task Groups in the field of research synthesis and operational application to concrete structures. They are published irregularly, about five to six times per year. fib Bulletins took over from FIP reports when FIP and CEB merged in 1999.
fib Bulletins are available to Members of the Concrete Institute of Australia and can be accessed in the Member Hub.

This bulletin is a State-of-the-Art Report on the Management of existing bridges adopting post tensioning technique. This technique is widely used around the world for bridge construction.
The Management of these bridges is a very important topic and this bulletin is an important contribution not only for the ordinary management of this type of structure, but also for their assessment.
The information presented in this bulletin is very useful not only for the fib community, but also for all engineers, since lack of guidelines on this issue.
Bulletin 112 fib MC (2020) complementary guidance on concrete durability
As soon as fib decided to move forward with a new Model Code, dealing with both new and existing structures, that is both the design of new structures and the various activities associated with the assessment, interventions upon and life-cycle management (LCM) of existing concrete structures, and designated as 'fib Model Code for Concrete Structures (2020)' (MC(2020)), it became clear that a chapter dealing with durability would be relevant.
Particularly, durability aspects play quite an important role when dealing with existing structures. Within fib there is a technical Commission, dealing with durability of concrete structures. In this regard, the Commission 8 members, lead by Lionel Linger, and with strong support of Mouna Boumaaza, developed many contributions for the MC (2020). These contributions were eventually simplified into a set of procedures and guidelines.
Accordingly, it was identified within Commission 8 that it would be important for those that will use MC (2020) in the future to have a technical background document. This document supports all the concrete durability aspects raised in MC (2020) and compiles the contributions from all the Commission members. It constitutes a fundamental piece for those who will apply MC (2020) in the future and may want to delve deep into the explanations.
Bulletin 113 Polymer-duct systems for internal bonded post-tensioning
Thick-walled polymer ducts have been used since early 1990 for internal bonded post-tensioning applications. Based on the first ten years of experience, fib Bulletin 7 Corrugated plastic ducts for internal bonded post-tensioning was published in 2000. Since then, polymer ducts have found their way into several national standards and recommendations and are to be found on the market in various products (ducts and accessories) that differ in material and geometry details. The fib Bulletin 7 was updated and extensively amended in 2014 and published as recommendations in fib Bulletin 75.
Since initially, experience with fabrication of these polymer ducts was quite limited, a number of system tests were specified not only for initial approval but also for factory production control during regular fabrication. This is in fact quite exceptional since approval procedures for post-tensioning systems typically specify material and geometrical checks for factory production control only (except single tensile element tensile tests).er ten years later, and with significant experience gained with the fabrication of polymer ducts, time has come to adapt the factory production control procedures of polymer ducts to those typically used for post-tensioning systems. Hence, all system tests were removed from factory production control except one which verifies geometrical fit of duct and duct couplers which is difficult to verify by dimensional checks only.
In addition to these changes to factory production control, the current content of fib Bulletin 75 has been mostly kept but critically reviewed and amended or corrected where necessary. Test procedures for dimensional requirements, and leak tightness of duct system and of anchorage-duct assembly have been modified in order to obtain a quantitative result from a pressure reading rather than a qualitative visual observation of leakage only. However, the actual performance requirement has not been changed, hence results of testing to fib Bulletin 75 can be considered still valid also under the now updated specification.
Bulletin 111 Modelling structural performance of existing concrete structures
For many decades code recommendations have focused predominantly on the design of new structures. On the one hand those recommendations should give rules which ensure the realisation of structures with sufficient safety and serviceability. On the other hand the recommendations should not be too complex, in order to allow the designers to work with practical and transparent rules and in this way reduce errors as much as possible. The relative simplicity of those rules includes some conservatism. For new structures this has hardly any effect on the costs whereas, on the other hand, this conservatism may turn out to be favourable in future if new unforeseen conditions develop, different from the initial design assumptions.
Meanwhile, the situation has been changed considerably. Many existing structures, after having functioned satisfactorily for decades, do not meet anymore the demands for structural safety and performance. Partially, this can be due to a change of the loads which may be larger than in the stage of design, like the traffic loads on many bridges. Another reason can be that the structures have been subject of deterioration, leading to a reduction of the bearing capacity as a result of worsened mechanical properties, and loss of cross-sectional area of concrete and steel. Furthermore, it is possible that it turns out that structures have been designed on the basis of design rules from the past, which are actually not accepted anymore. Finally, if the condition of a structure has been assessed, the question is how this will develop further in time and what is the remaining service life.
