Concrete 2027

Save the Date!

With Concrete 2025 now in the rear-view mirror, planning has already begun for the 33rd biennial conference of the Concrete Institute of Australia for next year!

Concrete 2027 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on the wonderful Brisbane River in Southbank from 5–8 September 2027. With the 2032 Olympics construction full-steam ahead, it is an amazing opportunity to be part of a generational change in the concrete industry in Queensland.

We are also very pleased to announce that Associate Professor Vinh Dao from the University of Queensland is the Concrete 2027 Chair. Vinh has a wealth of experience in academia and research, as well as being a CIA National Councillor and State Committee member for over 20 years. His local and international network will be invaluable in this role, as will his experience in technical and scientifi c conferences around the world.

Vinh will be supported by Dr Greg van Rooyen who will be part of the Technical Committee and Organising Committee. Greg is the Materials Lead in Queensland for BG&E and is also the National Vice President of the CIA. His commercial experience and connections with the CIA Queensland committee and members will be invaluable.

Added to this, the CIA will once again be working with Arinex to put the conference together, along with the CIA team led by CEO David Millar.

As we progress with the organisation of Concrete 2027, the Organising Committee will also continue to grow.
Concrete 2027 has some high benchmarks in place following the recent successes of the Institute’s conference in Perth in 2023 and in Adelaide in 2025. The ‘Sunshine State’ promises to deliver a conference we will never forget!
