The Benefits of Driven Precast Piling and Current Trends
Presenter: Daniel Wilmann
This presentation outlines the inherent benefits of precast piling, in terms of geotechnical and construction risk, as well as methods for addressing noise, vibration and heave.  It will also run through some interesting recent projects where less common piling methods have been adopted.
Piled Foundations Selection and Design Consideration
Presenter: Angus Cho
This presentation gives a state-of-the-practice account, of the key issues pertaining to: the selection, design, construction and testing of large diameter bored piles. It will also cover the key issues, rational design approach with consideration of settlement, use of shaft friction, quality control and mitigation on common defects.
A Holistic Overview of Piles – Investigation, Design, Construction, Monitoring and Testing
Presenter: Ben Young
This presentation focusses on the geotechnical aspects of piling, with reference to the structural implications. It will focus on bored piles in relation to the Department of Transport expectations. Case studies from recent projects are included and the emerging trend to use micropiles will be explored.
