In this webinar, we have two presentations:
Flexural Crack Control in Reinforced Concrete and SFRC
Presenter: Ali Amin
Reinforced concrete elements crack wherever the tensile stress reaches the tensile strength of the concrete. The control of cracking in concrete structures is usually achieved by limiting the stress in the bonded reinforcement crossing a crack to some appropriately low value. AS 3600 – 2018 includes provisions for the determination of flexural crack widths in reinforced and fibre reinforced concrete. This presentation provides background into these and alternative models.
Controlling Crack Widths in Concrete with Fibres
Presenter: Stefan Bernard
Crack widths are a critical serviceability issue for concrete structures. Both conventional and fibre reinforcement can be used to limit crack widths to satisfy durability and other design requirements. This presentation examines how fibres can be used for crack width control in RC/FRC hybrid members and examines the various methods of calculating crack widths available to the design engineer. Potential applications include slabs, beams, drying shrinkage and thermal shrinkage crack control.
CPD
This webinar provides 1 hour of CPD. Engineers Australia members may claim this hour of CPD if applicable to their area of engineering practice. This webinar is also recognised CPD for members of other professional bodies with annual CPD obligations. Participants should retain their purchase confirmation as evidence for their CPD records.
