This recorded webinar invites three industry practitioners to review concrete and the concrete industry with respect to sustainability and the way forward.
Concrete and Sustainability
Presenter: John Nichols
This presentation gives an introduction to the concrete industry, view Sustainability in a Concrete Context, review concrete performance versus low carbon, review Sustainability in an Engineering Context and preview the Concrete Industry’s way forward.
Engineering and the Decarbonisation of the Australian Cement and Concrete Sector
Presenter: Katherine Adams
This presentation describes the Decarbonisation Pathways report which identifies the significant technological, structural and behavioural changes and actions across all segments of the Australian cement and concrete value chain that will be required to significantly reduce CO2 emissions related to local concrete production and use.
Pathways to Decarbonisation – the Role of Supplementary Cementitious Materials
Presenter: Warren South
With the cement and concrete industry committing to decarbonisation by 2050, the role of Supplementary Cementitious materials will be central in enabling these ambitions. In order for all stakeholders to understand the challenges and constraints in realising the full value of SCMs, a roadmap report has been prepared by a consortium of industry associations.
This presentation outlines the report contents and highlight the main issues explored in the document. It also summarises industry metrics to enable a full understanding the work required to derive maximum value from these crucial materials.
CPD
This webinar provides 1 hour of CPD. Engineers Australia members may claim this hour of CPD if applicable to their area of engineering practice. This webinar is also recognised CPD for members of other professional bodies with annual CPD obligations. Participants should retain their purchase confirmation as evidence for their CPD records.
