Foundation Design – The Basics

This recorded webinar invites renowned foundation specialist, Professor Harry Poulos, to share his experience and knowledge on Foundation Design.
This module will cover four broad topics:
1 – Foundation Design Principles.
2 – Shallow Foundations.
3 – Deep Foundations.
4 – An Example of a High-rise Building Foundation Design.
These topics will be covered from a geotechnical engineering viewpoint, bearing in mind that foundation design is an interactive process involving both geotechnical and structural inputs. The importance of proper geotechnical characterization will be emphasized, as will the need to employ simpler methods to check more complex design analyses.
