Concrete fire design of the cut and cover tunnels of the Sydney Metro Project for the Tunnel and Station Excavation Works and the Rozelle Interchange
Presenter: Eric Zhao.
This presentation takes a close look at two major infrastructure projects and outlines the project Scope of Works and Technical Criteria, fire resistance requirements, analysis, and the design approach for the cut and cover structures. The presentation covers fire design loads based on European and Australian codes, potential spalling of concrete due to fire, thermal and structural analysis, and details adopted in the design.
Gap Analysis of Concrete Fire Design to Australian Standards
Presenters: Siggy Ingolfsson & Matt Walden
As we look to design infrastructure and buildings to be more resilient, the requirement to consider the structural response due to fire is growing. Australian Standards are adapting to some extent, but gaps in the standards mean that designers must supplement the standards with other international codes and standards. Matt Walden and Siggy Ingolfsson of Arup will present a gap analysis of structural fire design to Australian Standards, and discuss approaches that designers should take in the absence of relevant Australian Standard clauses.
CPD
This webinar provides 1 hour of CPD. Engineers Australia members may claim this hour of CPD if applicable to their area of engineering practice.
