Presenter(s)
- Gianluca Ranzi - University of Sydney
- David Mahaffey - Mahaffey & Associates
This recorded webinar invites two industry experts to review requirements for Serviceability Limit State Design both from the theoretical viewpoint of AS 3600 and the practical viewpoint of materials technology. Professor Gianluca Ranzi of Sydney University, who is a participating member of the committee that writes AS 3600, reviews the code requirements, and David Mahaffey, with nearly 40 years practical experience, reviews the material requirements.
Serviceability Limit State Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures. Gianluca Ranzi.
Reinforced concrete structures need to satisfy the serviceability limit state requirements to ensure that they can perform their intended functions throughout their design life. This limit state is satisfied when, for example, deflections are maintained within acceptable limits and cracks remain sufficiently small. This presentation intends to present some of the serviceability limit state design requirements recommended in AS3600:2018 and provide insight into some of the available methods of analysis.
Properties of Concrete For Serviceability Design. David Mahaffey.
This webinar discusses the properties of concrete used in serviceability design, how they are determined and how they can be specified. It will also look at some examples that illustrate the interaction between materials technology and structural design in achieving serviceability design outcomes.
CPD
This webinar provides 1 hour of CPD. Engineers Australia members may claim this hour of CPD if applicable to their area of engineering practice. This webinar is also recognised CPD for members of other professional bodies with annual CPD obligations. Participants should retain their purchase confirmation as evidence for their CPD records.
