Design and Installation of Anchors to Concrete: An Introduction to AS 5216 Design of post-installed and cast-in fastenings in concrete and AEFAC Installer Training.
Presenters: Tilak Pokharel and Brett King.
Anchors are essential components for connecting steel to concrete or concrete to concrete structures. They can be either cast-in or post-installed, depending on the application and the design requirements. However, anchors are also sensitive to various factors that affect their performance and reliability, such as anchor types, concrete conditions, seismic actions and installation quality. In this module, you will learn about the basic principles and concepts of anchor design and installation, the different types of anchors, and the common problems and challenges that may arise in practice. You will also get an overview of the Australian Standard AS 5216:2021, which provides the design requirements and procedures for anchors to concrete, and the AEFAC Installer Training Program, which offers certified training for installation of anchors. This webinar is intended for engineers, builders, manufacturers, suppliers, and other building professionals who are interested in or involved with fastening design and installation.
