This recorded webinar invites three specialists to consider Safety in the Design Process and the impact of risks from a legal perspective, safety on site, and an overview of what can wrong and how issues can be avoided and safely reported. Designing for safety in concrete structures involves a comprehensive approach that considers various factors to minimise risks and ensure the safety of both the structure and the community. There are many aspects involved but by integrating safety considerations into the design process, we will create concrete structures that not only meet performance requirements but also provide a safe and secure environment for everyone.
Overview of designers’ legal responsibilities – including case studies of what not to do
Presenter: Carlo Garofali
Consultants, contractors and building practitioners are being placed under increasing regulatory scrutiny particularly with respective to design obligations. Safety in Design is a catch phrase that we may readily recognise but not necessarily appreciate how it impacts design and construction practitioners in the ever-evolving construction industry regulatory environment. Carlo Garofali will provide a legal perspective of what practitioners need to know to comply with their Safety in Design obligations. He will also provide a number of case studies of prosecutions against designers which illustrate what not to do.
