The multi-level basement structure is now complete on a $540 million high-rise tower at Burleigh Heads, marking a milestone that will see the transition from foundations to vertical construction.
The 25-level beachfront tower on The Esplanade will feature 101 apartments, skyhomes and penthouses plus extensive amenities on levels 1 and 2 including magnesium and hot and cold pools, gym facilities, and a private cinema.
Two older apartment buildings were demolished to make way for the project. Developer DD Living appointed Gowdie Management Group (GMG) in 2025 to construct the project. The development sits on a 2024 square-metre site with 40 metres of beach frontage.
GMG has been around for more than 20 years and has built other apartment towers on the Gold Coast. The company has offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
GMG is headed by John Gowdie whose early years were spent working for some of Australia’s major construction companies, including Lendlease and Walter Corporation, before establishing GMG in 2004.
The project is due to be completed late in 2027.
