Event Summary

The NCC and Concrete
The National Construction Code (NCC) is the governing document covering all building construction in Australia. The quality of building construction has come into the spotlight and the code is being revised along with increased diligence from State governments to increase building construction and maintenance quality. This webinar invites the CEO of the ABCB and a Building Consultant to review the situation.

SPEAKERS:
Gary Rake, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Building Codes Board.
Ross Taylor, Managing Director, Ross Taylor and Associates.

PRESENTATION DETAILS:
NCC 2025 Public Comment Draft and Issues Ahead.
The National Construction Code is revised on a three-year cycle. In this session, Gary will share information about proposals included in the NCC 2025 Public Comment Draft – with a particular focus on those on interest to the concrete – and other issues on the horizon. Public comment on the draft of the next NCC will be accepted from 1 May to 1 July 2024 – so Gary’s session is an ideal place to get a summary of proposed changes.
Gary Rake, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Building Codes Board.

Concrete Waterproof Buildings - How do we stop new apartment buildings from leaking, and why will the NSW Design and Building Practitioners Act (2020) get us there?
This question is on the lips of all apartment asset owners, strata managers, designers, consultants, waterproofers, certifiers, and anyone who is involved with waterproofing of concrete structures. Waterproofing is an important aspect of building construction and maintenance and In NSW, the Building Commission has played, and continues to have a significant a role in ensuring that waterproofing is done to a high standard and in compliance with building codes and regulations.
It's important for everyone with a stake in concrete apartment buildings, homes, and office blocks to be aware of the waterproofing regulations and standards set by the NSW Building Commission to ensure that their construction projects are in compliance and that their properties are adequately protected from water damage.
Ross Taylor, Managing Director, Ross Taylor and Associates.

The webinar will run from 2.00pm to approximately 4.00 pm (AEST) and delegates will be emailed login details and a password for this webinar prior to the event.
