Construction of a 101-storey vertical residential neighbourhood tower has just been approved on the Gold Coast.
Towering over its smaller companion, a 60-storey commercial office building, the pair will be joined at the 22nd level by a fully glazed skybridge.
The taller building will stand in four segments, reach 393 metres in height, and comprise 197 apartments, while the shorter building will offer more than 11,600 square metres of office space.
The towers will rise from an elevated, splayed podium supported by root-like pillars (pictured). The design was inspired by the Morton Bay Fig Tree.
The initial concept design for the project was completed by BKK Architects in 2022 and revised later by Cottee Parker.
Construction of the project is expected to start in a matter of months, and when complete, One Park Lane in Southport, Queensland, will become Australia’s tallest skyscraper.
The City of the Gold Coast has only just approved the project so the construction tender is yet to be released. The consortium responsible comprises property group, Baracon, and developer, Tony Goss.
