Event Summary

The WiC webinar series is organised by the CIA Women in Concrete committee, with the objective of promoting greater female involvement, participation, knowledge sharing, and membership with the Concrete Institute of Australia.

Networking doesn’t have to mean awkward small talk or walking into a room wondering who to talk to. This practical workshop will give you simple strategies to approach networking with more confidence, from introducing yourself and starting conversations to building genuine connections and following up afterwards. Whether you’re new to networking or just want to feel more comfortable doing it, you’ll leave with practical tools you can use straight away.

Presenter:
Emily Canda is a Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Deputy Director of Women in Engineering & IT (WiEIT). With a background spanning engineering, project management, and research, Emily is passionate about helping students and early career professionals build the confidence and skills they need to navigate their careers.
