Event Summary

How do we reach net zero carbon in the concrete industry?

At the CIA's conference in Perth last year, sustainability, the circular economy, and how do we reach net zero carbon in the concrete industry were the key talking points. In the concrete construction industry it is essential for there to be real change in sustainability but it will require significant change in how we specify, design, supply and construct in the future. So what is happening in the materials, design and construction sectors to make this happen? This seminar will focus on some of the real actions taking place in the concrete industry and what we need to do to achieve net zero carbon.

Our speakers will cover a broad range of topics and offer perspectives that are related to their sectors. Michael van Koeverden will provide an overview of what is happening and what is needed in the materials sector, with respect to sustainability. Michael Heathwood will discuss the constructability aspects and what needs to happen on site to meet sustainability requirements.

This will be a seminar for everyone in the concrete design and construction industry in Newcastle and surrounding regions to be part of.
