The phenomena of creep and shrinkage are discussed through several interesting case studies to provide practical guidance for engineers. This includes working routines, simplified calculation methods and examples of detailing.

Presenters

Michal Krotofil is a Technical Principal - Bridges & Structures at SMEC and a Fellow of Engineers Australia. He is a bridge specialist with over 27 years of experience in the design and assessment of bridges both in Europe and Australia. Owing to his in-depth knowledge of bridges and attention to detail Michal had the privilege to work on some of the most iconic and challenging bridge designs in these countries. Of particular value is Michal’s extensive expertise in bridge constructability, construction methodologies, temporary works and their interaction with the permanent works gained on numerous Design and Construct projects.
