KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Clare Tubolets, CEO, Smartcrete CRC
Clare is CEO of SmartCrete Cooperative Research Centre, an organisation designed to support the Australian concrete sector to undertake research and development to facilitate decarbonisation. After studying microbiology at UTAS, Clare has had a diverse career in research and government program management spanning various sectors including sensing technology and agriculture. Clare is now a proud concrete enthusiast.
David Millar, CEO, Concrete Institute of Australia
David Millar is the Chief Executive Officer of the Concrete Institute of Australia and has more than 35 years of experience in the concrete and construction materials industry, including over 20 years in association leadership roles.
A civil engineering graduate from the University of Sydney, David's career has encompassed concrete aggregates, precast concrete, construction chemicals and concrete materials. Prior to joining the Concrete Institute of Australia in 2014, he served as Executive Director of the Concrete Pipe Association of Australasia from 2005 to 2013.
As CEO of the Concrete Institute of Australia, David has overseen significant growth in membership, sponsorship, education and stakeholder engagement. He has led the delivery of seven major national conferences, expanded the Institute's education and professional development programs, and established initiatives supporting young professionals and women in the concrete industry.
David is an elected member of the Standards Australia Membership Committee, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an active member of the Australasian Society for Association Executives and Associations Forum.
Through extensive engagement with industry organisations and associations across Australia and internationally, he has developed a strong understanding of the role professional associations play in advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and delivering value to members and industry.
