CIA SA 2026 Concrete Rising Stars Awards

Event Summary

The Rising Stars event is designed for invited students who have completed their final year project on a concrete related topic, to come and present their work to the industry. With a mission to promote and develop excellence in concrete research technology, application, design, construction and sustainability throughout Australia, the Institute’s vision is “excellence in concrete” and this is what our Rising Stars will be aiming for. The Rising Stars will showcase their projects during the event and delegates will be asked to vote for their favourite work, with the winners being presented with the following prize:

• A 1-year complimentary Young Professional Membership with the Concrete Institute of Australia (valued at $180)
• A copy of the CIA Recommended Practice Z6 Steel Reinforcement Handbook
• A copy of the CIA Recommended Practice Z7 Durability Series which includes:
  • Z7-01 Durability Planning
  • Z7-02 Durability Exposure Classification
  • Z7-04 Good Practice through Design, Concrete Supply and Construction
  • Z7-05 Durability Modelling Reinforcement Corrosion in Concrete Structures
  • Z7-06 Concrete Cracking and Crack Control
  • Z7-07 Performance Tests to Assess Concrete Durability

We are also very pleased to advise that Mr Brad Connolly, Concrete Technical Manager with the Hallett Group, who will present an update on the journey that Hallett are on with regard to their Green Concrete Project.

CIA SA Concrete Rising Stars Award
The Rising Stars event will provide students with a fantastic opportunity to be recognised for their hard work during the year, to network with potential future employers, and to have a chance to celebrate with the sponsors and members of the CIA. 

To register, email member@concreteinstitute.com.au with your name, email address, and mobile number and a poster template will be sent to you.

 Create a poster promoting your work on the template provided and send your completed poster to member@concreteinstitute.com.au prior to Wednesday, 4 November 2026. 

On the day, entrants must arrive at 5:00pm. You will be requested to stand with your poster and guests will view and ask questions about your work. This is your chance to shine, show them what you know, what you have learnt and wow them with your personality! All guests will be given a token and will vote for one entry.
