Celebrations all round for Tonkin

Our Silver Concrete Institute member is celebrating its 70th year in 2025, a branch’s quarter century, and two awards.

Adelaide-based engineering company Tonkin, founded in 1955 by Berwick (Skip) Tonkin, was a home-based business seven decades ago which has now grown to 250 staff across eight offices nationwide.

Its Mount Gambier office in South Australia recently marked its 25th anniversary by inviting local clients and partners to their celebrations. The branch provides structural and civil engineering consultancy services across the Limestone Coast and South-West Victoria regions.

Tonkin’s 70th and silver anniversaries are not the only things being celebrated. The company was recently declared Medium Firm of the Year with an award from Consult Australia.

And in addition, Tonkin was highly commended for its work on the $19.5 million Flinders Chase Visitor Centre on Kangaroo Island.

The Concrete Institute of Australia congratulates our Silver member on its milestones and success.
